Meet Silvinha

One of the things we've been quietly investing in this year isn't just projects. It's people. For the past several years, Silvinha has become one of those people. Since my very first trip to Brazil, she's faithfully walked alongside this vision, translating conversations, opening doors I never could have opened on my own, introducing me to pastors and ministry leaders, and helping build relationships that will become part of Kekel's foundation for years to come.

This month, we had the opportunity to financially support her as she traveled into the Brazilian Amazon during the Parintins Festival, the largest folk festival in Brazil. Imagine it. Thousands of people. Music filling the streets. Art on every corner. A celebration of creativity, culture, and identity. Exactly the kind of place where we believe meaningful conversations belong.

Somewhere in the middle of that crowd, Silvinha noticed a young woman waiting in line. What started as a simple conversation quickly became something much deeper. The young woman shared that she had a religion, but as they talked she began to realize that Jesus wasn't inviting her into another religious system. He was inviting her into relationship. The walls she'd been carrying slowly came down. Questions became honesty. Honesty became openness. And in the middle of one of the largest festivals in Brazil, surrounded by thousands of people, she surrendered her life to Jesus.

No church building. No stage. No perfectly planned moment. Just a conversation. A stranger. And a God who was already pursuing her long before they ever met. I've thought about that story a lot. Because while most of us will never stand in line at the Parintins Festival, together we were there. Your generosity made it possible for Silvinha to say yes to that trip. Her yes placed her in that line. And her obedience became part of someone else's story. That's the beautiful thing about generosity. We often think we're simply funding a trip or supporting a ministry.

But God sees something much bigger. Your giving strengthened one faithful woman to step into what God was asking of her, and through her obedience another young woman discovered that she was seen, known, deeply loved, and invited into a brand-new life with Jesus. You may never meet either of them. They may never know your name. But eternity will tell a different story. This is why we build. Not because we're trying to create another organization. But because we're convinced that every restored identity has the power to reshape a family, a neighborhood, a community, and eventually a culture. That's the world we're inviting people into. One where generosity creates opportunity. Opportunity creates conversations. Conversations restore identity. And restored people begin changing the world around them. Thank you for believing in this vision. Thank you for praying. Thank you for giving. Thank you for helping build what does not yet exist. One act of obedience at a time.
